Where do I buy replacement bearings?

You can find the bearings at this website http://www.mcmaster.com/#6384k365. They are a specific size so many retail outlets do not carry the bearing.

Also to order a Pet Wheel…

We currently do not have any Pet Wheels in stock. We apologize about this inconvenience.

Are Grip/Tread Pads included with the purchase of the wheel?

With every purchase of a Pet Wheel there is a set of Grip Pads.

What is the Return Policy and Guarantee of a Pet Wheel?

Since every pet is different we cannot guarantee the behavior of our Pet Wheel owners’ pets. If your animal continues to not use the wheel after 30 days then you can return the wheel, but will have to pay for shipping and a 10% restocking fee.

Do I need to use the Tread Pads that were included in my purchase?

It is up to the preference of the owner whether to use the pads. The pads, in our opinion, help your pet grip while moving in the wheel. We have heard people that have opted to not use the Pads but most of our users use the Pads. The Pad is a separate item from the wheel and is not covered under the warranty. The Tread Pads are made out of a specialized foam with adhesive backing.

How do I know how my pet will react to the wheel?

Every pet has a different personality that reacts differently to new objects in their environment. Some are naturally curious and take to the wheel immediately, others need a little more help in understanding how they can enjoy it. Normally a pet who is a bit mischievous or very curious will take to the wheel quickly. If they are more cautious, just like anything else you introduce them to, it will just take some attention. With this in mind we have some common tips below that you can use if you need a hint on getting them used to it.

How do I get my pet to use the wheel?

Depending on what kind of animal you have you might want to take slightly different approaches. You obviously know your pet better than we do so you know what works and what doesn’t with introducing new behaviors to them. With that in mind we have some suggestions to get you started!

For cats, if they are reluctant to use the wheel (after putting them on the wheel and spinning it a little to get them to understand what it does) we advice using a laser pointer or a wand and place it just below a quarter ways up from the wheel. We have various videos posted of this method and it seems to help them understand as well as a fun way to spend time with your cat. Also you can use a treat to reward them every time they use the wheel (when they walk a little or complete one full circle of the wheel).

For dogs, first put them in the wheel and start moving the wheel so they get used to walking in it. Reward them with verbal reassurances or treats when they run/walk on their own. If they don’t take to it naturally try using a verbal queue and use it consistently every time you get them on the wheel. Just like teaching a dog to sit you want to get them to connect running on the wheel as a good thing.

What is your warranty?

We provide a one year limited warranty from the date of purchase and applies only to the original buyer. Our warranty covers defects that caused the wheel to perform incorrectly. The only moving part of the wheel are the bearings. The bearing system should last for years but is covered under the one year warranty should they stop performing as intended. A full list of what is covered and not covered by our warranty is included with the Pet Wheel. Warranty coverage does not apply in its entirety outside of the Continental US. If you have any further questions please send us an email with a picture or call us up.  We stand by our product and believe in its ability to give you and your pet a wonderful experience, therefore we want to help in anyway we can.
